Scientists have recognized a rare chemical compound, plumbonacrite, within the base layer of the Mona Lisa, suggesting Leonardo da Vinci experimented with distinctive techniques. This discovery sheds mild on Leonardo’s creative process and highlights his penchant for innovation. Six stolen paintings, valued at over €100,000, had been mysteriously delivered to Amsterdam art detective Arthur Brand without a return address.
